About the festival

Every spring the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar opens to visitors as lakhs of tulips come into bloom in terraced beds overlooking Dal Lake, with the Zabarwan range behind them.

What to expect

Row upon row of tulips in dozens of varieties, alongside hyacinths and daffodils. The festival days add cultural performances, local crafts and Kashmiri food stalls.

Tips for visiting

  • Go early in the morning for softer light and thinner crowds.
  • The bloom lasts only a few weeks — check the opening date before you book.
  • Combine it with a shikara ride on Dal Lake and the Mughal gardens nearby.

How we can help

Our spring packages time your stay with the bloom and include transfers, a houseboat night and a local guide.
